Miscellaneous Projects
These are just a few of the non-classical projects I have played on over the years.
I wrote the first piece here as well.
Weiss - music for a commercial
- performed by Greg Suran & me. Greg is now a member of the Goo Goo Dolls touring band, and has done lots of other cool stuff. He's a beautiful musician.
Zerang - music from "Frankenstein"
- performed live for 8 weeks at the Steppenwolf Theater, Chicago.
Music from this play was featured on all through an episode of Ira Glass' "This American Life", a nationally syndicated NPR program.
3rd Coast String Quartet - Grace Under Pressure
We were kind of like the Turtle Island String Quartet, but this track also has a groovy drummer!
Steve Gibons, an incredible improviser & our first violinist, wrote this piece.
Stereolab - Refractions in the Plastic Pulse
- from the album "Dots & Loops"
I've played lots of recording sessions for many bands, put I'm proudest to have worked with Stereolab. If you have heard them, you know what I mean - they are great!
The Frames - in the deep shade
- from the album "for the birds"
NPR played this lovely piece after airing a story on the one-year anniversary of 9/11. The Frames are also a great indie band with a lot of heart, and lots of fans!
Many thanks to all the musicians who played on these recordings (you know who you are!), or who hired me to perform on your projects. I am proud to have worked with all of you.
